BELLS APPEAL CONCERT by AMADEUS - the Chamber Choir on Saturday, 3rd July, 7.30pm.

St. Peter's, Formby

Originally the first fund-raising event planned for the St Peter's Church Bells Appeal only six short months go, this concert will now likely prove to be the final event now that the £15,000 target to refurbish the bells has been reached. The appeal continues to enable outstanding grant applications to be considered and to determine future maintenance provision.

Amadeus - the Chamber Choir was formed in January 2000, rehearses at Merchant Taylors’ School, and has a wide-ranging repertoire from church music and madrigals to contemporary works and Broadway songs. The Choir is conducted by David Holroyd, who is Director of Music at MTS. They sing predominantly for their own enjoyment but are also available for all types of events and have given many concerts in aid of local charities. They regularly sing for weddings and have sung regularly in Blackburn, Chester, and both Liverpool Cathedrals; Liverpool and Lancaster Town Halls; the Philharmonic Hall; St George’s Hall and Anfield! Further afield, they have sung in Paris, Granada, Prague, Vienna, Venice and Rome.

October 2009 found Amadeus singing Sunday Mass in St Peter's, Rome. Now it's the big one for them in St Peter's, Formby! Ticket prices are adults £10 and U19s £5 to include wine and nibbles during the interval. In aid of the Bells Appeal, we hope you will come forward quickly to ensure places at this concert. You will NOT be disappointed!
